Everything's going red today in support of World Aids Day! The mighty forces of Google, Twitter and Facebook have banded together to turn red for the day. Not only has the Twitter homepage turned red but using the hashtag #red or #laceuplives will literally turn your tweets red.
'Lace up lives' you ask? Well crafty Nike has become involved in not only raising awareness of World Aids Day, but also in promoting their new product RED Laces which plan to help fight Aids in Africa with 100% of the profits going to the Global Fund and to Nike football-based programs.
Yesterday saw Bono (Yes, again) with some of the world's best footballers - Didier Drogba, Joe Cole and some other ones that mean very little to me (full list here) launch the RED initiative in London. Not only has Bono been flashing these bad boys but Drogba's been conveniently wearing them about the pitch. There's a video of the sterling shoe laces in action here.
For those that are not shoe lace fans, Facebook is selling red goods such as the red iPod Nano and the red Dell Inspiron mini 10v in support. Google's also added a link to its homepage with information on helping and joining campaigns.
Or stick to the free and easy method, and show your support via Twitter. Go on, send a tweet now - it might not save the world, but it can't hurt.
